Doctor Who

Petronella Osgood, often addressed simply as Osgood, is a recurring character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. She is a scientist, initially employed by UNIT (Unified Intelligence Taskforce), a military organisation tasked with protecting Earth from extraterrestrial threats.

Osgood is characterized by her intellect, unwavering dedication to science, and enthusiastic admiration for the Doctor. She is known for her distinctive attire, which includes a lab coat, Converse sneakers, and a scarf patterned with symbols of various alien species encountered by the Doctor.

First appearing in "The Day of the Doctor" (2013), Osgood quickly became a fan favorite. She represents the best of humanity: curious, intelligent, and committed to safeguarding the planet. Though seemingly unassuming, Osgood repeatedly demonstrates courage and resourcefulness in the face of extraordinary danger.

Tragically, she is killed by Missy in "Death in Heaven" (2014), only to be replaced by a Zygon duplicate in "The Zygon Invasion/The Zygon Inversion" (2015). Ultimately, Osgood chooses to remain in her Zygon form, serving as a bridge between humans and Zygons to maintain peace on Earth. This further cemented her status as a deeply sympathetic and complex character within the Doctor Who universe.
